All it really takes is to make sure the right program
versions are installed etc. to generate this 'readiness', something I'm
sure S.u.S.E. can handle. Of course, some of us are running it already,
with no major issues...including ppp. My guess is you failed to upgrade
to the right version of ppp, and that's why it broke for you. Most people
don't check Documentation/Changes before building and trying to run a new
kernel....One of these days people will take seriously that the docs
included with packages ( including a Linux kernel ) really aren't their
just to cheat you out of diskspace. They are truly there to help people
get programs etc. running properly...
I can't speak for S.u.S.E. but given the lack of difficulty in making it
'ready' I'm sure if they say ( as they do on their website) it will be 2.2
'ready' it will be.
