The masters are already in the factory. They were shipped before 2.2.0 was
released (newest version on the CDs is 2.2.0-pre7).

Dropping in the latest kernel without further testing would not be a good
idea. There are still some known problems (heard about that "everybody can
crash the machine bug"?; also ISDN needs additional work). In order to
have a kernel that works for anyone, we will need some 2.2.x, where x is
some number != 0.
