Hi,

SuSE Linux 6.0. Kernel 2.0.36.

I have a machine with an 8 Gb drive, Linux only.
I have the 3 standard partitions / (/dev/hda3), /boot (/dev/hda1) and
/swap (/dev/hda2 128Mb), which were proposed by Yast.

When I run fsck on /dev/hda3 it's telling me something about 1027
cylinders and that it should be 1024 or otherwise it will give
problems with programs like LILO.

I am experiencing strange things such as random crashing, especially
after heavy use of SMB.

I also have the impression that the machine is booting from /dev/hda3
iso. /dev/hda1. That is if I boot from SuSE CD-ROM 1, and then try to
boot from /dev/hda1 it's telling me it can't.

Sorry for the confused problem description, but does this make sense
to anyone? Is an 8 Gb drive perhaps too big for Linux ?

Kind regards,

==
