Hi,

First, thanks for the useful tool, s2ram. However, I am having a
problem suspending to ram and hope that someone on the list might have a
tip.

I am running Suse 10.1 on a Toshiba Satellite M45-S165 laptop and
everything else on the system seems to be working great.

vga from lspci gives:

ATI Technologies Inc RS400 [Radeon Xpress 200M]

And s2ram -i gives:

This machine can be identified by:
    sys_vendor   = "TOSHIBA"
    sys_product  = "Satellite M45"
    sys_version  = "PSM43U-00S00F"
    bios_version = "1.50   "

For all of the testing, I booted with the options "noapic vga=0
init=/bin/bash". I have tried all of the variations of s2ram -f that
were suggested in http://en.opensuse.org/S2ram, even "s2ram -f -p -s" as
it suggests for ATI cards. Unfortunately, all of them produce the same
result. That is, the system looks like it suspends fine, but when I
turn it back on, I can hear the cdrom and hard disk access quickly, but
the screen is blank. The system is frozen in the bios I'm pretty sure
because there is not even a caps lock response and of course no response
to typed commands or magic-sys-req commands.

The really bad part is that I cannot turn off or reboot the system with
the button. Holding the power button down just repeats the same failed
attempt to restore the system. To turn off the system, I have to unplug
the computer and remove the battery while it's on. I'm afraid that this
may damage the system (am I wrong?).

Thanks for any tips,
Ian
