I am trying to get my Dell Latitude C400 to work with s2ram. No luck yet. OK, so its quite old, but otherwise it works very well with linux.
I am using opensuse 10.2 - kernel 2.6.18.2-34-default SMP Booting using init=/bin/bash and mounting /proc and /sys gives:- * s2ram -f -a 1 reboots * s2ram -f -a 2 hard disk spins and LED stays on then everything freezes * s2ram -f -a 3 reboots * s2ram -f -p -m hard disk spins and LED stays on then everything freezes * s2ram -f -p -s hard disk spins and LED stays on then everything freezes * s2ram -f -m hard disk spins and LED stays on then everything freezes * s2ram -f -s hard disk spins and LED stays on then everything freezes * s2ram -f -p hard disk spins and LED stays on then everything freezes * s2ram -f -a 1 -m reboots * s2ram -f -a 1 -s reboots kernel options lapic, nosmp, noapic, single, ide=nodma don't make any difference. For what its worth, suspend to ram works fine with Ubuntu 6.1 (Edgy) - kernel 2.6.17.10-generic (at least it works from from X - I did not test it from console). The only entries I can see in the kernel log just before freezing that are not present with Suse are: Dec 12 14:11:53 andy-laptop kernel: [17197349.576000] pccard: card ejected from slot 0 Dec 12 14:11:56 andy-laptop kernel: [17197352.924000] ACPI: PCI interrupt for device 0000:02:03.0 disabled After resume from hibernate (which works well in Suse) the same PCI disabled message appears but after the freeze message. Any suggestions? Many thanks. Andy ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys. Earn Cash.
