Ok, so it does not work.

Please read the documentation, i mention explicitly that those artefacts (and
a cleared framebuffer until you switch virtual consoles) are to be expected.

Just try them in the order written in the documentation on
http://en.opensuse.org/S2ram
I'd guess that probably "s2ram -f -p -m" is ok.
