Hi,

I have never been able to get suspend to work on my ASUS F3jp laptop running
Ubuntu (now 7.04). The closest I've gotten to is with s2ram.

Here is my info:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo s2ram -i
Password:
This machine can be identified by:
   sys_vendor   = "ASUSTeK Computer Inc. "
   sys_product  = "F3JP                "
   sys_version  = "1.0       "
   bios_version = "207    "
See http://en.opensuse.org/S2ram for details.

If you report a problem, please include the complete output above.
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$

I can suspend from a minimal state by passing init=/bin/bash to the kernel
at boot. But when I try, even from outside X, with a normal boot, all I get
is "calling get_mode" and a flashing cursor. I can switch into other VTs,
but I cannot type in any of them. Ctrl + Alt + Del doesn't respond, so I
have to do a hard shutdown.

Here is syslog's output:

May 20 18:17:12 frege kernel: [ 73.140000] PM: Preparing system for mem
sleep
May 20 18:17:12 frege kernel: [   73.140000] Disabling non-boot CPUs ...
May 20 18:17:12 frege kernel: [   73.260000] CPU 1 is now offline
May 20 18:17:12 frege kernel: [ 73.260000] SMP alternatives: switching to
UP code
May 20 18:22:47 frege kernel: Inspecting /boot/System.map-2.6.20-15-generic

At 18:22 it is rebooting.

Any ideas will be enormously appreciated!

Simon
