Interesting. But are you sure it's still there in the oil?

David  Reid wrote (22 Apr 2001, [biofuel] REFINING  VEGETABLE OILS) 
that the tocopherols are removed in the processing:

6)DEODORISING
            Steam Distilation under pressure and exclusion of air
            Removes:
            Aromatic oils
            Free Fatty Acids
            Molecules imparting unpleasant odours and tastes
            Temperature: = 240 to 270 degrees C ( 464 to 518 F ) for 
30 to 60 minutes
            Also removes:
            Peroxides produced during refining and bleaching
            Tocopherols ( vitamin E )

Terry says it's removed:

Is it also removed in food oil, Terry? That is, will it still be 
there in used cooking oil, and if so, in what condition?
