I had a conversation with a chemist friend about this issue, here is a link
to an html-ized transcript of that IRC conversation.  It wanders a bit but
has a lot of information you may find useful.  I have not yet had a chance
to try what we discuss there, and I don't think my friend has yet either.
So what I'm sharing is theory, not practice based.
