hi,

if the adobe svg viewer is to be phased out, where does that leave future
internet explorer users wanting to access svg apps. are we reliant on
internet explorer including native support for svg in future versions of ie?
if not who is developing the next svg viewer/s.

sorry if this is a frequent question, but i have a look through some threads
and i couldn't find a conclusive answer.

is it like this:

Microsoft knows how many people out there are using the adobe svg viewer, so
it has an knows the demand for svg accessibility. if web design's started to
widely adopt svg, then Microsoft would see the increase in demand and would
build in native support for its browser. but obviously, if web designers and
potential developers feel there is a danger that their handwork will be
invisible in the future, they will not look at svg as a viable root. catch
22. maybe it doesn't work like this, i have no idea.

if it is like this however, svg maybe could benefit from a campaign to
educate designers (not developers) about the advantages of using svg, and
increase confidence in its future accessibility. is there a more appropriate
forum for this discussion? i don't want to clutter up the code space.

cheers

harvey
