Well, the easy way to check is to run the normal uninstaller, and install the version you want to test against and see if the EI dialog is shown. If so, then you know Flash Switcher is not de/re-registering the players correctly.
BTW - If you go to a player version detection page ( like http://www.bobbyvandersluis.com/swfobject/testsuite_2_1/test_api_getflashpla yerversion.html ), what version does it say yuou have? Does it match the Flash Switcher version ?
