Well, the easy way to check is to run the normal uninstaller, and install
the version you want to test against and see if the EI dialog is shown. If
so, then you know Flash Switcher is not de/re-registering the players
correctly.

BTW - If you go to a player version detection page ( like
http://www.bobbyvandersluis.com/swfobject/testsuite_2_1/test_api_getflashpla
yerversion.html ), what version does it say yuou have? Does it match the
Flash Switcher version ?

Subject: ExpressInstall Not Working on Mac Player Versions Below 9?

At first I thought there was something wrong with my implementation,
but after downloading the latest version of SWFObject, validating my
HTML / CSS and looking at some other sites I started to realize my
pages weren't the only ones I was seeing this on.

Using <a href="http://pipwerks.com/lab/swfobject/expressInstall/2.0/
dynamic.html">an example</a> at pipewerks, I've tested 7.0.69, 8.0.22,
8.0.24, 8.0.33, 9.0.115, and 9.0.124. The only ones that worked were
the last two. And of course, 10.0.22.

Thinking <a href="http://www.sephiroth.it/weblog/archives/2006/10/
flash_switcher_for_firefox.php">Flash Switcher</a> may be installing
the plug-ins incorrectly, I used Adobe's uninstaller and then tried
running the plug-in installer. I tried it both in Safari and Firefox
on Mac. No luck.

Is anyone else seeing this happen?
