to those that have experienced the same problem.
the problem is with passing parameters.  as soon as i omitted this
from the html document created by
the swfObject2 program the program and flash buttons works as
expected.
i cant see how this is a "programmer or user" error as the very sparse
documentation
provided with this product does not detail much other than how to
embed.

if adobe adopted this as a standard then flash is dead on the web.
dont really see much value in swfobject but i thank sam for responding
to my posts.
