The University of Sydney's Russelian Society presents.... FILM NIGHT: ALIEN – WITH AN INTRO FROM DR. THOMAS BESCH THU 18 MARCH – 6PM – HISTORY ROOM S223, QUADRANGLE (Near jacaranda tree – look for signs) Access (student union member): FREE / Non-Access: $4
We will be probing into the weird and wonderful at our first film night, with Ridley Scott’s sci-fi thriller Alien. What might a philosopher have to say about hermaphroditic life-forms which parasitically terrorize the human race? Dr Thomas Besch (USYD lecturer of moral and political philosophy) will share his thoughts with us in an introduction to the film. Join us for light refreshments from 6pm. Dr Besch’s talk will begin at 6:30pm, followed promptly by the film screening. (For a synopsis of the film, see this link: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0078748/plotsummary)
