Comment #3 on issue 1487 by ryanlists: fcode: print sympy expressions as Fortran code http://code.google.com/p/sympy/issues/detail?id=1487
I think this is a great feature. I used something similar with Maxima and f2py for my Ph.D. thesis. It was really great. This looks like a good start. I don't see any attempt at line wrapping. That is a big deal with long FORTRAN expressions. Should there also be the required 7 spaces inserted at the beginning of the output, or is the intention not to have executable FORTRAN output generated? Maybe this could be an optional feature, but it was in the Maxima FORTRAN function I used and it was really nice. Another really minor thing, this part of the fcode.py docstring messed up emacs python-mode: Most of the code below is based on the "Professional Programmer's Guide to Fortran77" by Clive G. Page: I understand that it isn't necessary to escape the single quote as far as Python is concerned, but python-mode isn't quite as smart. So Most of the code below is based on the "Professional Programmer\'s Guide to Fortran77" by Clive G. Page: would be nice for emacs python-mode users. -- You received this message because you are listed in the owner or CC fields of this issue, or because you starred this issue.
