I agree that 0.7.0 is the right time to merge new polynomials module.
Introducing
such a big change in a minor release would be very confusing to our users,
especially
when the documentation is almost nonexistent at the moment.
As to review, the module is under review from the very beginning and many
issues were
already discussed and bugs fixed, so it shouldn't be that bad. Also high
coverage
with tests of the new code will help here (although more tests are needed
in some
places).
