I should add here that GSOC projects often do not end up doing
precisely what is specified in the proposal. Think of the proposal as
more like demonstrating that there are things that can be done and you
understand how to do them and have a rough idea of what you can
achieve in the time. The actual list of "I will do this, then that,
..." is less important than just demonstrating that you know what
should be done and how to do it.
