One more thing. I just discovered that AFTER running Hyperterminal the test program runs ok and the baud rate, stop bits and word length are setting ok.
I have done it a couple of times now, after a disc/reconn sequence at first the test program does not work and I can see the wrong baud/word parameters (1200/7 instead of 19200/8) from the portmon as I reported in one of my previous messages. Then I run Hyperterminal which works ok. Then I quit Hyperterminal and now the test program works fine (until the next disconnection of the adapter) and from the portmon I can see the correct baud/word parameters.
