Yes, I agree, two weeks is FAR too short a time.

We generally allow feeds to be idle for as long as their normal updating
period requires.  A school feed, for example, might go dead during the
entire summer vacation period.  Or a running marathon might go idle until
just before it's next yearly date.  That said, when looking at feeds I find
it's ok to give them about a 4 month window.  We periodically run reports
that look for moldy oldies and handle them.

One important rule of thumb for reviewers is "if you're not sure, then pass
on handling it".  If you don't like the content or aren't sure about some
part of it then don't waste your time.  Ask here on the list for help or
just skip over it.  There are plenty of feeds out there and we'd much rather
see folks concentrating on stuff they grasp.
