It won't work that way.
Any Mac that can run both 6.07 and 7.1 will boot to OS 6.0.7 using
the 6.0.7 System folder on the 7.1 Disk Tools floppy.

It won't work, and I wasn't suggesting it. I was suggesting which boot
floppies are candidates. (I forgot to mention 1.4M 7.1 Disk Tools, which
has 7.1 folder. They're all listed at
