Also, the ability to deal gracefully with content it doesn't understand,
displaying what it can and noting that it can't handle the rest, rather than
(say) crashing the computer. (This applies to bug-ridden web pages as well
as whole formats the browser can't handle.) This should be obvious, but the
record of the major browsers is not encouraging.
