That, to me, seems the first of two large hurdles to leap. The second.....machine bus speed. At between 16 and 25 mhz. on an 020 or 030 CPU, things go like molasses. A 68030/33 is TOLERABLE. Also, the java built into the current pages online poses a real problem. Some sites won't let you on if you don't have a java-enabled browser. Limiting the machinery tried to, say, the SE/30 and Classic II Compacts and forward makes the task easier. An accelerator card with an 040 CPU is easier, although my poor SE/30 has gone on strike since placing that card into it. Doing it on an SE or Classic is a toughie. I haven't yet tried it on my newest find, a Macintosh II, with a 5-1/4 inch hard drive, but I'm going to. (68030/16 with FPU). Because it's a Mac. These things are supposed to be done on them. ;^) Jeff -- System6 is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and... 123Inkjets.com <http://lowendmac.com/ad/123inkjets.html> Support Low End Mac <http://lowendmac.com/lists/support.html> System 6 Heaven <http://www.euronet.nl/users/mvdk/system_6_heaven.html> System6 info: <http://lowendmac.com/lists/system6.html> Send list messages to: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To unsubscribe, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For digest mode, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subscription questions: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/system6%40mail.maclaunch.com/> Using a Mac?
