Well, I just looked up netatalk and they say it works under OS X. Alas, TCP only. So that is a no-go. Really, for things like this you may as well use anything other than OS X. Just toss an old box between the System 6 system and the OS X system and things should be fine. But Apple seems to be as eager to ignore anything before NeXT OS X as they are to ignore the Apple II, so trying to use OS X as a bridge is just asking for headaches.
