Well, I like Unixy stuff and saw huge benefits in MPW.  By benefits, I mean
ways in which MPW improved upon the Unix shell.  For example: you can reuse
prior commands by repositioning your cursor, build scripts by selecting a
black of commands, and the output could be reused as input for the command
interpreter.  And "commando" was a godsend: instead of copying command line
switches from a man page, you built the command line with a dialog box.

I will grant you that it's complex, and it doesn't really fit in with the
Mac philosophy.
