walkers on the list could enlighten us whether Eastler will bother making a try at the A. (That is, first, does he have a prayer, and, second, is there sufficient recovery time after the Trials 20K?)
Here is the situation with the walks. Chris is right Andrew Herman
has no intention of doubling which interestingly enough moves me
up to the third spot. (An aside here, I never ever thought I would be
in this position.) Here is what Tim and Kevin said they are going to
try to do. Either this Saturday or Sunday they are going to try for
the A standard on the track. In order for both to go both have to
walk under 1:23. Tim can do it if the day is right but Kevin is a
slightly less then a long shot, but it is possible. So yes he could
recover and he does have a prayer. If Tim gets it and Kevin doesn't
then I am going to ask Kevin to come race with me in Wisconsin on
September 9th which is the last feasible chance to get the standard.
I would be a huge long shot to make it but I figure I should at least
try. The worst that can happen is that I'll get a 10k PR. So close yet
so so far.
Good Training, Michael Rohl
