I know about the forum that you referred to. I was on it for about two years
and I thought it was great, having people who were not Tails developers but
with more knowledge and experience to answer questions posed by newbies.

I believe Tor's StackExchange works on similar lines. Tor developers do not
need to be on StackExchange 24x7x365 to answer questions. People with more
knowledge and experience can answer them, if they wish.

In my opinion, Tor and Tails developers need only to moderate the forum(s) to
ensure the answers provided are accurate.

Hi,

About one year ago we closed down a forum we had on our website. Our
plan was initially to move together with Tor to a new Q&A site. Tails
put a lot of error into investigating which Q&A platform would be the
best to suit our needs. And of course, no existing solution was perfect
and we would have had to do a lot of work to bring any of them to our
expectations. In the end, for various reasons all of this didn't happen;
and Tor decided to go and create a Stackexchange instance on their own.

For the time being, we don't have enough human-resources to follow-up on
the extra work such a tool would imply for us. The Tor stackexchange is
also quite new and we want to see how things evolve.

Maybe some day Tails will have web-oriented support again. But for the
time being we simply try to redirect the specific request to the right
place: sending people with questions specific to Tor to them, and the
other way around.
