Here are some ways that are between property boundaries, but definitely not roads (yes, I drove my 2-wheel drive Daihatsu Pyzar on these!): http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=-33.29107&lon=149.11792&zoom=17 (Orange NSW) http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=-30.53151&lon=151.6575&zoom=17 (Armidale NSW) > If it is within a property (including National Parks and State Forests): > - unsealed: highway=track > - sealed: highway=service See John Smith's post about public roads through private property. In addition, many national parks have public access roads that are unsealed, but maintained. I think Liz's suggestion (avoiding obstacles = track, etc) makes sense, so I'll go with this, bearing in mind temporary obstacles like potholes that may be graded later.
