I know that a mailing list in either Dutch or French (or German) is not a
solution. But by starting with a message in English, one also immediately
excludes all people that speak only French or Dutch or German.
A solution is that we would all be fluent in French, Dutch and German and
do not have to rely on another language. But that's unlikely.

As you wrote, it's difficult to solve, as I think that using English is not
meeting half-way for all people.
