My guess is that things just come down to normal supply and demand. The
customer demand has always been for JAWS. If there is no demand for a product,
its business cannot grow. If it cannot grow, it cannot develop new products.

The old GW Micro was in financial trouble. To begin with - I thought the
Office Deal was of dubious value. It sihgnaled that that paying customers were
not meeting the cash flow requirements. And: whilst I was a fan of the SMA (I
still have two counts) as a way of encouraging loyalty from indivivduals, the
Office deal trashed that.

So: we are left with what we have - for all the moaning - Freedom Scientific
ran a better business. We have three free screen readers - Narrator whose
development is progressing, NVDA with a loyal user base, and which is still
being developed, and Window-eyes. The free screen readers which continue to be
developed will get user support. But: none of them truly jmeet the modern
professional's need for sophistication and customisation.

My question is why would a company pay for a company that only has one product
"Window Eyes" then shut down the product.?

If the company had asked for a donation, I would have gladly given it.
