Yeah, I've tried that, but using it just locks up the port and a reboot is required to free it up again. I've now found other reports of this sort of thing; see comment #9 here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=914706 Has anyone got garmin_gps working specifically with Ubuntu 8.10 and/or the Legend HCx?
