Steve, Curious. Other than connecting the phone to the PC with a cable, what are the key steps in setting up tethering?

AT&T will not know you are using your PC to access the web. This is providing you are not using one of there phones and you are using a unlocked phone. Just remember to read the screen with Talks to select the correct mode on your phone to connect this away if using a cable. You do not need the tethering plan as long as it isn't one of there phones IE E71X, 6790 surge, 6650 Fold. If it is a N82, N85, N86, N95* or some other unlocked model you will be OK. Again do not leave it connect all the time and you should be OK. Also remember if you do not have a 3G plan, download speads could be about the same as a 56K modem.
