I'd like to know the answer to that, too. I didn't think it was possible
without walking hot spot of a similar application.

Steve,
Curious. Other than connecting the phone to the PC with a cable, what are
the key steps in setting up tethering?

Tony
As long as you do not leave your computer connected all the time! AT&T
will
not know you are using your PC to access the web. This is providing you
are
not using one of there phones and you are using a unlocked phone. Just
remember to read the screen with Talks to select the correct mode on your
phone to connect this away if using a cable. You do not need the
tethering
plan as long as it isn't one of there phones IE E71X, 6790 surge, 6650
Fold.
If it is a N82, N85, N86, N95* or some other unlocked model you will be
OK.
Again do not leave it connect all the time and you should be OK. Also
remember if you do not have a 3G plan, download speads could be about the
same as a 56K modem.

Subject: [Talks] Tethering Question
I posted this to the accessible phone list but didn't' get any answers so
hoping someone here might have some idea.
I'm currently with AT&T and if you want to use your phone to tether you
have
to pay I think $25.00 fee a month for the privilege. Now, here is the
question. If I use a app that uses my nokia as a wifi hot spot would AT&T
consider this tethering and charge me for it? Any help would be greatly
appreciated.
