hi Maurice and all, if you feel that you are not comftable with the virtual keyboard, you can purches a USB keyboard or a bluetooth external keyboard and hook to the N8. the N8 do come with a USB-OTG cable and you can use it to connect a portable drive or external device with the phone. with the external keyboard connected, you can use the phone as you are with a laptop. but of course, talks is working find with the setup. please purches keyboard that compatible with nokia phones and bluetooth 3.0 is recommended.

Hi All, May I also put t my two pennith in here. I agree with Alan that, however challenging it may seem, we are moving into the Touch screen era. For me as a totally Blind person , I have found this a challenge especially from the point of view of texting which I do a lot. I have tried many talks-related nokia phones and others such as the HTC desire and iPhone with speech output. I find Texting slower than on a button phone. I've also tried the touch screen phones that use a Qwerty keyboard for texting and this is somewhat faster but, I don't always find it easy doing this with one hand and standing up. So, I'm migrating onto the N8 and so far really like it. In Particular, what I like about this phone is the fact that you can have either a Qwerty keyboard or number keypad with just one twist of the phone. It's taking a bit of getting use to but, I'm sure I will come around and I think Alan is right, it's the way things are going. Just a personal view of course.
