yeah, the unofficial announce 2 new model is T7-00 and X7-00. there's also another up coming model is E6. all of these 3 models going to run on s^3 pr2.0 which is the latest release of symbian^3.
nokia also has discontinue numbering on their symbian OS, there'll be no more ^3, ^4 and so on. all up coming new phone will be only call symbian and it will be have pr1.0, pr1.1, pr1.2 and the latest is pr2.0 codename Anna. i dont know about other country, but as our last meeting with CEO Nokia Malaysia, he told us "local nokia reseller" that Nokia will no longer releasing any new S60 model which he refering to symbian 9.3 and 9.4 devices. 9.3 is for keypads phones and 9.4 is actually S^1 phones, e.g. C6-00, N97, 5800 and so on. another thing, keypads phones is different to qwerty keyboard phones. i am talking about those pure keypads models and nothing related to qwerty models. since nokia is loosing share in the world sales to samsung, they changed their marketing strategy. they even start to release those S40 phones in touch and type which have both touchscreen and qwerty keyboard. example of such model are C2-06, C3-01 touch and type and X3-02 touch and type. again, i am not talking rubbish here, i am telling whatever fact that i been told. p.s. no arguement in this issue. -- Allan (WKF) "Life is impermanent, happiness is not a necessity, a person must cherish the people around them." ----- Original Message ----- From: "Stephen Giggar" <[email protected]> To: "Talks Mailing List" <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, April 21, 2011 17:20 Subject: Re: [Talks] a new nokia phone? We'll have to wait and see if they come out with other keypad phones or not. Nokia did announce not released two new phones within the last 2 weeks. The phone will probably be available later this year. Will they work with the current version of Talks? The answer is I don't know and would say probably not being they are running a later version of Symbian Power sign 3. One has just a touch screen and the other one has a quirty keyboard on it. No I donot think Touch screen phone will be the only thing going. There will always be phones with keypad/keyboards on the market. Like I said, we'll just have to wait and see what Nokia put out. If you want a phone witha standard keypad! The best thing you can do is to call Nokia for your country and put in a suggestion that they put out some new Symbian phones with standard keypads on them. The more people that call and have the suggestion entered into the system! The more likely it will get done. Signed: Stephen Giggar Skype: dr-phone.
