Pena de Tango
The open-mike sessions continue every Wednesday at Afiche, corner or M. T.
Alvear and Uriburu. Sonia Abadi and her friends host this evening of tango
singing with a little bit of folklore music and storytelling during the
musicians' breaks. Those who want to be on the program for the evening
arrive at 9pm to sign up and have dinner. The singing begins at 10pm and
goes until 2am. Admission is $5. There is a dinner special with drink for
$7.50. Chiche on bandoneon and Hector on guitar provide excellent
accompaniment on the spot without any rehearsal. I attended last night's
session and saw many familiar faces from the milongas.
