How's everyone doing with this? I finally got a chance to first do some beat counting on the train with the ipod and a pencil, and then to try to copy the fiddlers this evening: hellish difficult to get the timing in the b section, even though I've got the bars counted out right I think. It's funny how something so counter intuitive and random to me sounds so right, but so difficult to do. I guess it's a question of understanding and assimilating that rhythm and style through listening. And then there's the slides and the pinkie, and the way to make it sound menacing, not trite.
