I know where you are at (as I believe one may say in the United States). There is a reason the Universe created Disney: it's to give parents 80 minutes of mandolin practice time, and to hell with the dirty washing. Jane Austen had loads of kids, no wii and even fewer Nintendo DS, but did her pages per day. On the other hand, all her kids grew up to be football hooligans and dope fiends, due to their abandonment by their mother in favour of art. Or not. I say no matter how poor the situation is, make sure you do something for yourself.... But maybe I'm just trying to reinforce the lessons and do the homework...
