 Yes  indeed.   Many  thanks for your prompt reply.  I unfotunately chose to
 try  your scheme on my biggest folder, the standard 'Sent Mail' folder, and
 this  has  a  much  more basic Properties window which does not include the
 deletion options!  Hence my puzzlement.

 I  will  just  have  to check that *all* of my sent mail is copied to another
 folder  (I know  most  of  it is), which I can archive with your scheme. The
 Sent Mail folder contents can then be just dumped according to age or size.
