I think you don't understand IMAP concept very well. It was created exactly for that kind of situations. You can access your emails in ANY PART of the world from one central place (e.g. the server). And you can do this without connecting to the internet because message base is cached on EVERY CLIENT you are using. Moreover if you don't have _your_ laptop around, most organizations had implemented webmail access for this. I hope you heard of such things as IMP, Zimbra or Outlook Web Access. By the way I don't use TB! for production nor at home nor at the office anymore and never looked back. I have one copy on my test machine though. And I'm not crying, I want to express my opinion on the things that's going on at Ritlabs for couple of last years.
