email programs like editors and newsreaders are very much a matter of
taste and personal wishes.
You could write a nice news reader but unless I am convinced its
better then what I use (ie Agent) I wouldnt even bother
installing/trying it. added I run a registered Agent for 3 years, it
does more or less what I want, why should I change??
A good example is Newspro, I like its multithreading, multitasking etc
but it has a really lousy interface for a normal newsreader. But if
you want to combine loads sof little pieces of a post together spread
over several servers OR you want to download a specific long file
split into pieces with more then one download at the same time, it
does it much better then Agent. So sometimes I activate it to get a
set of splitup files OR just to make it find where they are...
But noway would I use it as my newsreader..
Like I only use the agent email for post specific email answers
corresponding to my nick as used on the newsgroups...
I have no intention to use it for my email. I used Eudora for a while
but it ended up crashing my system and what really annoyed me one time
was downloading a full version to find a stupid 25 mb IE4 in the
archive and that while I was betatesting 98!! Not exactly THEIR fault
but finding that MS addon sure stimulated me to drop it, and the same
goes for their lousy pgp implementation.

My wishes for the bat are better filtering, better font support (Ie not
only monospaced) and a Linux version.

Best regards,

tracer
