I get "Invalid URL". (note that this is not the 404 error, but an
error message from the myorderbox website.)

Here the error message says "Invalid RFA type".

 In the first URL, there is &participant in the first part, which ends
 with a ">". I can imagine that there should have been a "<" at the
 beginning of the line, and the URL that follows after the ">" is the
 one that TB! uses. YOu copies this manually from an HTML mail?
