No. There was a heated discussion about a point similar to this, deep in
TBUDL history, the contention being that the cursor should placed
exactly where the user defines it in the templates, instead of appearing
in the To: field when composing new messages. There was one camp who
felt it was logical that the cursor be initially placed in the To: field
since mail is composed in an orderly manner with the user filling out
the header info in a stepwise fashion and then finally typing the
message. When presented with an argument as yours, the refute was that
the application should not assume that you've filled in all the To:
header information and that the user may have the desire to add
additional addresses. The other school thought this was a baloney
argument and that the cursor should be placed where the user specifies.
Afterall, it's the user who's in charge right? I'm of the latter school.
BTW. :-) The counter to this argument was that, yes, the cursor is
placed where you want it to after you've dealt with the headers in a
logical orderly fashion. :-)
Anyway, the whole discussion which culminated in an argument got us
nowhere. We're still at this juncture today.
