Hi Ming-Li,

On 23 September 2000 at 08:26:38 GMT -0700 (which was 16:26 where I
live) Ming-Li wrote and made these points on the subject
of "Fixed or variable width? (was Re[2]: Karin and The Bat)":

I've probably exaggerated, but then I don't see the mails to the RIT
labs wishlist address. It must be > 90% of new users that do complain.

ML> archive just to make sure),

No you didn't.

ML> and I've seen many others who didn't.

Probably not, but it is, by far and away the most common complaint.

ML> I guess it's such misconception of new users always asking for

The hostility is out of the frustration the majority feel. The problem
is a technical one. TB's in-built editor relies on fixed-width fonts
for many of its' features. That's why IMHO it really won't change for
V1, no matter how good the argument in favour of making the change may
be. I'm not saying that those asking for it are wrong to do so, just
that it's a "right theory, wrong universe" thing.
