Hello all. I'm in some dire straits, so I hope some
of you can help me.

I'm using The Bat! version 1.47 Halloween update,
under Windows 98. The problem started ... at least a
week ago. I'm not sure of its exact duration. The
account in question here is the one I'm using to send
this e-mail, my Yahoo! mail account.

The problem is: I can receive messages from the
servers for each of the two accounts I have on this
version of The Bat!. However, when I try to reply to
a message, The Bat! hangs on the "Connecting to
server" dialog box and eventually tells me it can't
connect to the server. It then files the unsent
messages in my outbox.

I can send messages from the web client for Yahoo!
mail, just not from The Bat! as a desktop client.

I checked with Yahoo!, to be sure I have the smpt and
pop servers correct in the preferences. (I do.) I
tried reinstalling the upgrade, to see if that made a
difference. (It didn't.)

Anyone have any ideas on what this might be and/or how
to fix it?

Thanks in advance,
Melissa
