It's just a matter of providing others choice. You may not need to
make such a choice but others may wish to have it.
At present I'm subscribed to both lists and read both from the same
folder. Address book templates take care of the appropriate addressing
for replies. If you wish to get all the list traffic, subscribe to
both then. But others who wish not to read everything will have the
choice.
Although, I'd personally not forsake the beginners list, I do take
Douglas' point that the list would become fractured and the newbies
may not get the help they need.
It doesn't matter to me either way what happens but I'd sure wish to
hear more opinions on this but I think off-list.
