Well, I presume you've double checked the obvious... Options/Mail Ticker
and "Show Automatically" or "Show Always" to see if that makes a
difference?
Aside from that, did you take a look in the Registry as per Marck's
posting in this thread? Other than that, I have no idea. Sounds though
like you've inadvertently hidden it, or it somehow found it's way off the
side of your screen.
Have you also tried a Scandisk followed by a Defrag?
