Hi All,

where you think I live) "Thomas F"=[TF] typed the following :
SH>> The problems comes if you /reply/ the confirmation message, my
SH>> recommendation is /forward/ the confirmation message to
SH>> [EMAIL PROTECTED] and keep the body text intact (no
SH>> touch). Listar not understand any prefix for any list commands.
TF> I think this is not a good idea. When I get a cofirmation request, I
TF> always only hit reply and let the computers take care of themselves.
TF> forwarding and filling in the Listar address is troublesome.
Without reading the instruction ? Or reading the error message if you
did wrong action ?
TF> How about you put a filter onto the address that receives a replied
TF> messages, edit the reply quotes out via RegEx, and let TB then send
TF> the edited message to Listar. It may be troublesome to set this up,
TF> but otherwise I assume we will get more messages complaining of the
TF> same problem.
And I have to edit help, edit the hardcode instruction everytime
update the version, update the script everytime Perl Engine update
...:-(
TF> Also, since "just hit reply" works with many other mailing lists, I
TF> think it is a bit much to change this mailer just for this list.
Have you tried subscribed to Mailing list which use LSMTP, Listserv,
Lyrish, Majordomo, MailMan yet ?
Don't you think the TB! fancy quote style also making this problem ?
TF> What if the unsubscriber uses another mailer to unsubscribe? ;-)
The instruction how to do the right things already there, I have tried
using Pegasus, OE, Eudora, WebMail (from many public list) without
problem as far as they forward to list manager address.
The instruction said, we must keep body text intact...means no prefix
no touch.
For tb! users the simple way is /forward/, only on this kind of
response TB! not making any Fancy Quote Style :-)
There is also other way offcourse, i.e using selective reply, just
select the list command words as example below and hit F4, then remove
any prefix, or using Reply without quote (Shift-F4) then cut and paste
these lines from original message pane.
// job
appunsub tbudl [EMAIL PROTECTED] 3B8CE28E:E56.1:gohqy
// eoj
The main problem, as Peter and other state, are the members read
instruction on confirmation request message (only a few lines
actually) ? The instruction on top, not in the footer.
