Unfortunately not, because contig uses Windows system calls that aren't in 95, 98 or ME. (Unless someone, somewhere, has written a similar application for these flavours of Windows; unlikely and I can't find anything). Alastair PS I note that, on defragmenting, opening TB!, receiving _one_ email message, compressing, exiting TB! and defragmenting again, 5 out of 199 files in the MAIL directory and below are found to be fragmented on my (XP) system.
