That's right.

If you wish to wrap a block of text when pasting, use the paste
formatted option (Shift-CTRL-Ins).

This is because you have autoformat enabled as well. Hitting the space
bar will make autoformat, reflow the text, since hitting the space bar
inserts a space, i.e., a new character.
