Also  factor in people on low bandwidth connections.. I think the email footer
is pretty low-impact and contains a hell of a lot of info.

The  other  option  is a daily post to the list (or weekly) marked "Subscriber
Info".  People  could  then  filter  this  out as/when required, even from the
server  without downloading....(mm, lets see - am I using an email client that
can do that ;-) )
