Hi Richard, On Saturday, October 5, 2002, 7:35 PM, you put forth, in part, about "Can only connect when The Bat starts.":
R> That's already in but I've now found that The Bat will only connect if R> I have the fire wall set to medium security, not a very good thing with R> ADSL on all the time. Will I just have to live with that? I don't fancy R> it very much. It is *not* TB! It is any MUA. They all use the same standard ports. This is because when you send and recieve mail, it uses 2 ports, 25 for SMTP and 110 for POP3. If you use SSL or IMAP, those are other ports.... It is not a question of your mailer... it is a question of you knowing your firewall. Just set your firewall to open up port 25, and/or 110, experiment a little. I am sure you can open up individual ports, instead of a general "medium security." If you use IMAP and/or SLL to your ISP, let us know... -- Best regards, Gary I couldn't repair your brakes, so I made your horn louder. ________________________________________________ Current version is 1.61 | "Using TBUDL" information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
